Whatever you’re going through, you can overcome it and have that hope in life. @16tmoney @LIOVirtualAthleticSummit
I want athletes to know that whatever challenge they face, whether it’s an injury or diagnosis, if you just have that positive outcome and that positive mindset, you can get through it. @16tmoney @LIOVirtualAthleticSummit I want athletes to know that they can do anything they put their minds to. I was pitching a day after chemo, yes, it’s hard and it’s difficult, but I’m out there doing my thing. @16tmoney @LIOVirtualAthleticSummit There’s times when I’m just wiped out and so tired, but I’m just trying to keep my body healthy and upbeat. I don’t want to miss a beat out there and I want to be there for my team if they need me. @16tmoney @LIOVirtualAthleticSummit My teammates are such huge supporters and I can’t thank them enough for always taking me out of that place if I am have a rough time. They know how to help me get my mindset right. @16tmoney @LIOVirtualAthleticSummit Especially with traveling and the grades, you definitely need to stay on top with your professors, communicate with them, get your study hours done, and contact your academic advisor or teacher if you ever have any questions. @16tmoney @LIOVirtualAthleticSummit Stay on top of communication. Make sure your professors know your name, introduce yourself as an athlete, make sure they know you’re going to be traveling, and stay on top of your work. @16tmoney @LIOVirtualAthleticSummit With sports, make sure you keep pushing hard, don’t miss practice, and put all your effort into everything you do no the field. @16tmoney @LIOVirtualAthleticSummit Coaches will notice every single point that you do and they will take that into consideration when placing you on the team. @16tmoney @LIOVirtualAthleticSummit Focus on yourself. Make sure that you’re doing the right things, never skipping class, and building those connections with teachers, professors, and also your coaches and teammates. @16tmoney @LIOVirtualAthleticSummit It’s definitely a different atmosphere ringer in college but just going back to your roots and communicating with my coaches about keeping that fast pace is key. @16tmoney @LIOVirtualAthleticSummit It helps to imagine myself being back at my high school. It’s really fun because that was such a good time for me and a really cool experience. @16tmoney @LIOVirtualAthleticSummit Try to keep yourself busy as much as you can, find something that you love to do and just have fun with it. @16tmoney @LIOVirtualAthleticSummit It can definitely be tough staying home and being cooped up in the house, especially with only seeing the people that you live with. Keep the positively and having that mindset that it’s going to be over soon. @16tmoney @LIOVirtualAthleticSummit |
Four years ago I was diagnosed with a rare liver cancer. After having the surgery to remove the grapefruit sized tumor in my liver, I was clean for a year until three new tumors popped up. I’ve being going through chemo treatments and radiation, and I’m just trying to push through. @16tmoney @LIOVirtualAthleticSummit
I’m still playing softball and I’m still fighting through every obstacle that comes my way, and I’m still staying positive. @16tmoney @LIOVirtualAthleticSummit Keep battling, pushing through, and staying positive. I can’t control the situation but I can control my attitude through it.@16tmoney @LIOVirtualAthleticSummit Everything that’s come my way in life, I think of it differently. I think of the positive aspect that it might have in my life. @16tmoney @LIOVirtualAthleticSummit When I’m on the softball field and something goes wrong or I’m just not having a good game, I realize that I’m just blessed to be out there. @16tmoney @LIOVirtualAthleticSummit God has me and even though I’m not having the game of my life, I’m just happy to be out there with my teammates and coaches. It’s a blessing every day. @16tmoney @LIOVirtualAthleticSummit Know that the little things in life matter the most and do not take one second for granted. @16tmoney @LIOVirtualAthleticSummit There are tough times and there are tough moments. There’s good days and there’s bad days. Sometimes I don’t want to go to class or practice, but my mindset is that I’m blessed for another day. I’m here, and God is going to give me the strength every single day to do what I can. @16tmoney @LIOVirtualAthleticSummit Always have a positive attitude because if you have a negative attitude, you’re not going to get anywhere and you’re not going to persevere in life. @16tmoney @LIOVirtualAthleticSummit I’m always setting goals for myself and trying to overcome every obstacle. I have dreams and ambitions after college and after softball. I’m going to continue striving and pushing myself to get to where I want to be. @16tmoney @LIOVirtualAthleticSummit Even though it may be tough and there’s going to be a lot of challenges, no one’s promised tomorrow. Living life one day at a time and seeing where God takes me is all I can do. @16tmoney @LIOVirtualAthleticSummit Persevering through everything, living life the way you want it, and setting those goals for yourself is definitely huge because once you’ve hit those goals, you feel accomplished and ask, what’s next? @16tmoney @LIOVirtualAthleticSummit Have that faith, keep persevering, and working hard. @16tmoney @LIOVirtualAthleticSummit Even during this time, you can always become a better athlete and a better person. @16tmoney @LIOVirtualAthleticSummit |
